The requested lookup key was not found in any active activation context

Internet explorer, after updating from version 6 to version 8, shows an error "The requested lookup key was not found in any active context" when executed.


Solution is to first uninstall Internet Explorer and/or repair Internet Explorer, restart computer before re-installing Internet Explorer 8 back.

Error 1309 when running Office 2003

When running Microsoft Office 2003, installer unable to find the setup source directory previously used. The below error is shown and you can't access any of your Microsoft Office applications.


You can change the source setup directory without reinstalling by using Office 2003 Tool: Local Installation Source Tool.

Windows 7 automatically deletes network shortcuts on desktop

Network shortcuts goes missing randomly on computers running Windows 7? Try checking whether Configured Scheduled Maintenance Behavior is configured in the Local Group Policy.

Go to Start -> gpedit.msc

Look under Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Troubleshooting and Diagnostics -> Scheduled Maintenance


Select Enabled and under Options - Execution Level, choose Troubleshooting Only.
